Hugh is a lighting cameraman of over 25 years experience. He has filmed around the world, working on enormously diverse projects from drama to documentary, corporate films to game shows. Hugh has had a passion for the sea since childhood, and in 1998 Hugh gained accreditation H.S.E. Media diver. This opened up an exciting world of possibilities as his shooting went underwater.

Hugh has worked all over the world as an underwater Director of Photography. Thirty five countries at the last count. He has a keen interest in wildlife photography which has always informed his work. Through early trips filming wild dolphins in the Red Sea, to Sea Gypsies in Sulawesi, his passion for filming underwater has taken him from Viet Nam to Indonesia, The Red Sea to Star City near Moscow, by way of the Manchester Ship Canal, where he 'drowned' Coronation Street's evil Richard Hillman in a stunt watched by 20 million viewers. This has lead to numerous awards for his underwater work and a lucrative career filming underwater scenes for feature films, TV dramas, commercials, pop promos and documentaries

Hugh is passionate about capturing outstanding images, and he is constantly striving for perfection. He is experienced in 35mm and 16mm film production and video acquisition from DVCam to HD and 4K RED.

So far Hugh has worked in over 35 countries worldwide, and has an enormous breadth of experience in diverse situations, (both wet and dry).
